Injections for fine lines and wrinkles

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin is a popular non-surgical injection that has been safely used for the treatment of lines and wrinkles for over 25 years. When injected into or around muscle tissue in small quantities the effect is to block nerve impulses, temporarily weakening the underlying muscles that cause frown lines, forehead creases and crows feet, giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

Treatment

Injection is by fine needles, allowing untreated muscles to continue to work normally, retaining usual facial expressions.

What to expect immediately after treatment

Occasionally a slight headache. There may also be a slight, almost unnoticeable bruising at the point of injection.

Expected Outcome

The effect of each treatment will be seen within a few days, and usually lasts three to four months, after which repeat treatment s will be required to maintain the skin smoothing effects. After several treatments, the effects of botulinum toxin may begin to last longer, sometimes up to six to eight months.
