Dermal Fillers

As we age, our faces begin to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement, such as smiling and squinting. The underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laughter lines, smile lines and crow's feet over the areas where this muscle movement occurs. A simple treatment injecting a dermal filler can fill out these lines, immediately giving the skin a fuller, smoother appearance.

Treatment

Using soft-tissue fillers, a series of small injections is administered under the skin. The fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face making it more youthful looking. They can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. Treatment takes about half an hour.

What to expect immediately after treatment.

The effect is immediate. A slight swelling and redness at the point of injection may be experienced by some, but for no more than a day or so.

Expected outcome

The effects usually last up to 12 months, after which a repeat treatment may be necessary.
